Towing in Monash

We take our statistics from VicRoads. VicRoads record crashes in which somebody was harmed or if emergency services were called. This means that the actual number of tows is higher than what we report — minor salvage tows when a vehicle gets bogged or otherwise stuck, emergency tows for cars that have broken down, speciality tows, machinery transportation and our other services are therefore not covered in these statistics.

The number of crashes reported in Monash in 2017 is significantly smaller than the number reported in 2016. Emergency services were called out to 40 car crashes in Monash last year, compared to 2016’s 109. While they were spread out across the area, VicRoads’ map reveals a number of crashes occurred along or near Huntingdale Rd and Doncaster-Mordialloc Road. There was one fatal crash in Monash in 2017. It occurred on the Bell/Springway Highway.
Over the past five years, the highways passing through Monash saw the highest number of crashes. The road with the highest number of fatal crashes in Monash was Ferntree Gully Rd.
2017 had the fewest number of accidents than any other year from 2012 to 2017. The next lowest was 2015, with 95.
